NIA-IA Celebrate Hard Work and Commitment

MARIIS-Division III Manager William B. Oppuer delivers his State of the Division Address during the division’s Grand NIA-IA Day in San Manuel, Isabela.

San Manuel, Isabela – Hundreds of farmers headed by Alejandrino S. Pascua, President of the Federation of Irrigators Associations in Division III and employees of the Magat River Integrated Irrigation System-Division III gathered at office grounds here on March 20, 2015 for its Second Grand NIA-IA Day Celebration.With the theme “Sa Maayos na Patubig at Makabagong Teknolohiya pang-agrikultura, Masaganang Ani Dulot sa mga Magsasaka,” Division III Manager William B. Oppuer said in his State of the Division Address that the event is a celebration of the farmers’ enthusiasm, commitment, and hard work helping the division attain a 1.94 viability index for 2014.

Lorenzo M. Caranguian, Regional Technical Director for Operation and Extension of the Department of Agriculture-Region 2 Office, the event’s guest speaker lauded the division for its excellent performance and reminded the IA’s today’s farming should be science-based, climate-smart, market-oriented, and for inclusive growth.

MARIIS Acting Operations Manager Wilfredo C. Gloria  called on the farmers to continue supporting the plans and programs of NIA-MARIIS for greater success.

The event was also attended by Provincial Agriculturist Danilo B. Tumamao, National Food Authority Provincial Manager Leslie A. Martinez, and Jimmy Q. Abarabar of the Agricultural Training Institute.
