MARIIS CONDUCTS SEMINAR-WORKSHOP ON RECORDS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

According to documentmedia.com, Records Management is the effective and systematic control of an organization’s records, regardless of medium, through their entire life cycle–from receipt or creation until their final disposition. Records management ensures that valuable records evidencing an organization’s activities and that have legal, fiscal, administrative or historical value are protected and accessible while useless records are systematically destroyed.

Acknowledging the importance of not only recording incoming and outgoing official documents and communications, but also proper storage of the same for ease of retrieval, the management of National Irrigation Administration-Magat River Integrated Irrigation System (NIA-MARIIS) headed by its Department Manager A Engr. Wilfredo C. Gloria find it appropriate to train its employees, particularly Administrative Officers and document controllers on the proper manner of managing office records. This is through a Seminar-Workshop on Records Management Program. The seminar-workshop is aimed to equip the participants in the creation, maintenance, disposition and storage/archiving of official documents in accordance with the standards adopted by the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP).

This Seminar-Workshop on Records Management Program is being conducted at the NIA-MARIIS Training Center, Minante 1, Cauayan City from October 9 to 11, 2019. Resource persons came from the Philippine Association of Record Officers and Archivists (PAROA): Mr. Joel A. Ocay PAROA Founding President and Ms. Lulu del Mar, Records Specialist.
